Getting a signature on an estimate is the critical step between a quote and a confirmed job. MoveRight makes this frictionless — customers sign directly from their phone or computer without downloading anything or creating an account.
The Customer’s Experience
After you send an estimate, the customer receives an SMS and email with a link to their personalized estimate page. From this page they can:
- Review all line items — every charge is clearly itemized
- Ask questions — there’s a direct reply option that comes back to you in MoveRight
- Accept and sign — a simple signature field and confirmation button
Signing takes the customer under 60 seconds. They receive an automatic confirmation SMS and email with a copy of the signed estimate.
The Operator’s Workflow
1. Monitor Estimate Status
In the opportunity, the estimate status updates in real time:
- Sent → customer receives the link
- Viewed → customer opened the estimate (triggers a notification for you)
- Signed → customer has accepted and signed
When an estimate is viewed but not signed within 24 hours, MoveRight sends you a task reminder to follow up.
2. Receive the Signed Notification
When the customer signs, you’ll receive:
- A push notification in MoveRight
- An SMS (if configured)
- The opportunity stage automatically advances to Signed / Deposit Required
3. Follow Up for Deposit
After signing, the natural next step is collecting a deposit. See How to Record a Deposit.
If the Customer Needs Help Signing
Sometimes customers have trouble finding the signature field or run into technical issues. Here’s a quick checklist for your support script:
- “Check your texts — the link was sent to [phone number]”
- “It should also be in your email from [your company name]”
- “Just scroll to the bottom of the page — there’s a signature box and a green button”
- “If the link expired, I can send a new one — it just takes 2 seconds”
To resend the estimate, open the opportunity, find the estimate, and click Resend.
Signature Validity and Legal Standing
Digital signatures collected through MoveRight are legally binding under the ESIGN Act (US) and PIPEDA (Canada). The signed document is stored in the opportunity with timestamp and IP address records.
When a dispute arises about job scope or pricing, the signed estimate is your documentation.
