Some moves — especially large homes, long-distance relocations, or high-value contents — are better priced with an on-site estimate than a phone quote. MoveRight makes it easy to book, assign, and track on-site estimate appointments.
When to Use an On-Site Estimate
- 4-bedroom homes or larger
- Significant special items (piano, pool table, antiques, art)
- Long-distance moves over 300 miles where accurate weight matters
- Commercial moves with complex access or equipment requirements
- Customers who specifically request it
Steps
1. Open the Opportunity
Navigate to the opportunity for the customer. If you haven’t created one yet, create a new opportunity first.
2. Click “Schedule On-Site Estimate”
In the opportunity sidebar, click Schedule On-Site Estimate. This opens the scheduling interface.
3. Select a Date and Time
Use the calendar to pick a date and time that works for both the customer and your estimator. MoveRight shows estimator availability based on their existing schedule.
Tip: Offer the customer a 2-hour arrival window rather than an exact time. This gives your estimator flexibility if a previous job runs long.
4. Assign the Estimator
Select the team member who will conduct the on-site visit. They’ll receive a notification and the appointment will appear on their schedule.
5. Confirm the Customer’s Address
Verify the origin address for the estimate visit. MoveRight will generate a one-tap navigation link for your estimator.
6. Send Confirmation
Click Send Confirmation. MoveRight sends the customer:
- An SMS with the date, time, and estimator’s name
- A calendar invite link they can add to their phone
- A reminder SMS 24 hours before the appointment
7. Prepare Your Estimator
Before the visit, ensure your estimator:
- Has reviewed the notes in the opportunity
- Has access to MoveRight on their mobile device for the on-site estimate flow
- Has your company’s specialty item pricing guide
During the On-Site Visit
Your estimator can use MoveRight’s mobile estimate builder during the visit to:
- Add items to the inventory list room by room
- Note access issues (stairs, parking, narrow doors)
- Take photos and attach them to the opportunity
- Build and send a preliminary estimate on the spot
After the Visit
The on-site notes sync automatically to the opportunity. The sales rep can follow up with a formal estimate using the full estimate builder within MoveRight.
